Finally got around to seeing The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe the other night. It was pretty much as expected, with only a few moments of the "oh, i would have done it this way" that i usually get into. I did get a little distracted playing "spot the visual designed to look exactly like a scene in one of the LotR movies", but can't complain as i'd probably have done exactly the same (he says as if he'd know how to make a movie anyway, though it's never stopped me before).

I was left with one nagging thought though - yes, the name Maugrim does sound familiar (despite it being nearly a quarter of a century since i read that book), but then what story was it that had a character named Fenris Ulf?

According to Wikipedia: His name was changed to Fenris Ulf for early American editions of the book. More recent American editions have reverted to the original British text.

Wacky. I wonder which mine is. Except it's packed, so I can't go look it up. Pfft.
