Just a quick reminder, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is on again this weekend, with Dawn of the Dead as the theme.
Ghoul up, come along, hear some groovy deathrock tunes, two-step and pogo the night away or chill out in the back rooms. You know you want to.
Absolutely, positively guaranteed to be a fun night.*

Can we call you Honest Darren Stranger now, with non-core promises and all?

Date: 2005-09-27 03:56 am (UTC)In answering that, let me make myself perfectly clear. Now you know as well as i do, Grr, that simply saying that something is guaranteed does not in any way imply that a guarantee exists as such, as i'm sure any reasonable person would agree. To read any more into a rather innocuous, motherhood statement like that would be to take nit-picking to a ridiculous extreme. Furthermore, in saying that, while i'm quite relaxed and comfortable with the reliability of that forecast on the basis of information provided to me, and have every confidence in the parties concerned, it's hardly reasonable to be expected to anticipate every possible eventuality in all circumstances for a broad spectrum of ordinary people and their subjective experiences. I think you'll find the past record speaks for itself on that score.

Date: 2005-09-27 04:04 am (UTC)The sad thing is that the voice and face in my head as i wrote that seemed to alternate evenly between Howard and Beazley. How refreshing it would be to have political leaders who actually said something instead of making noises with their mouths that kind of sound like words.
So horribly out of the loop its sad ...

Date: 2005-09-28 05:32 am (UTC)It's at 383 Lonsdale Street, up a little from Elizabeth Street towards Queen Street. KKBB is on the top floor, in a rabbit's warren of rooms and corridors with black walls and uv-lit paintings.
I really like the venue, though some others don't. Feels more like a loft party than a club to me.

Date: 2005-09-29 03:10 am (UTC)Hey there.
I'd liek to go to Cabaret Nocturne too, as the bands sound good and it's a nice club. I usually have a greta time there, dancing to goth and '80s trash or just chilling out, but i haven't been there in ages. I've just about given up on draggin my arse out on a Friday night, after getting up at 6am all week. Must be getting old, i just cannae hack it any more. (Didn't even make it down the road to see Sforzando at the Empress the other Friday, and it's only a block from home).
KKBB is pretty much all old-school goth, gothic punk and new wave, with the odd bit of ghouly rockabilly type stuff thrown in. I love it, as it's all my kind of music all night, in a venue that doesn't feel like a nightclub, and helpfully on a Saturday so i can grab a sleep-in before hand and stay awake.
I'd recommend either, though i'm obviously biased. :)

Date: 2005-09-30 03:29 am (UTC)but kkbb does sound like a nice atmosphere whether i like the moozik or not (tho i'm sure i would). i'll try make the effort to check it out next time around.
in the meantime looks like i'm gonna be dragged along to hell next week. all these monthly and fortnightly events, it's so bloody hard to keep up ;P
