Dec. 23rd, 2003 09:58 amWell, it's the second last workday for the year, and once again i'm neither relaxed nor excited, but a tightly wound knot of stress, looking at the pile of work i'd vainly hoped to get done before the year was out, which i have to look forward to as a welcome back present to start another year behind the 8-ball before it even begins.
Ah, well. As i keep saying, if the boss wants to pay me 20 bucks an hour to print name tags for his kids' school books, well, it's his dime. i just have to find the fine line between not stressing when that means my own work doesn't get done, vs not caring at all and thinking "why even bother?".
Maybe 2004 really should be Year of the New Job, though i fear finding myself in the same quicksand elsewhere, but less secure and without my internet access (aka 'social life').
Two and a half weeks to *not* think about it, then we'll see.
