Hello world. It's me. Still alive.

Between house-stuff, feline medical emergencies and additional responsibilities at work, i haven't had much time to poke my nose about these parts of late.

Apologies to everyone whose birthdays i've missed hooraying, comments i've not yet replied to or drinkies i've read about two or three days after the fact.

Hopefully life will return to sanity soon, but i'll try not to be such a stranger in the meantime.

I'm thinking i really should start to use this thing as an actual journal, and make an effort to write regularly, regardless of whether anything big is happening.

Otherwise, when there really is something going on worth writing about, it's all too hard to find time to capture it all (as in the case of the last few weeks) and it just slips past and ends up too big to set down in one huge chunk (which is also why my written journal fell by the wayside). But perhaps if i get into the routine of recording life in small, bite-sized pieces as it happens, then i can capture things in time before the story is too long to record in whatever hectic, eventful time it falls in. And if some things have to be kept to private entries, then so be that as well.

Of course, i'll have to look into how to save all this history in a more permanent format, in case el-Jay fucks up somehow, but i probably should be doing that anyway.

So yeah, let's see if i can actually stick to this.
