so much for that idea
Nov. 15th, 2004 09:55 amSo, we went along to Bar Open to see Croque Monsieur on Friday night. The place was packed - i swear there must have been at least two hundred people crammed in that little bar, with so little standing room that if you bent over to talk to someone you'd find your airspace had been occupied when you tried to straighten up. I had no idea that band were so popular (of course they should be, but i didn't realise there were that many people with taste). We only caught the last twenty minutes of their first set, as Elaine had gotten home late from a shift, and after another odd half hour of being jostled and ducking cigarettes and elbows, we gave up on waiting for the second set and headed home, thinking Sforzando the next night was a better bet.
Unfortunately, Elaine was tired and stressed on Saturday and we were dead broke (neither of which was helped by a $100 parking ticket) so that didn't happen either.
*sigh*
I guess it must say something if going out at the weekend is pretty much the only thing i look forward to each week, and missing out leaves me shitty and depressed for the rest of it.
