another dream
Jul. 4th, 2004 12:53 pmLast night's dream included some sort of disease going around, with dysentry-like effects but fatal. In a hysteria-induced effort to contain the contagion, anyone infected was arrested and quarantined in these cube shaped cages, which were stacked up like battery hens as the people waited to die (i recall a horrible moaning and crying coming from the cages, together with an icky flow of blood seeping from below the stack).
Toward the end of that section of the dream, the government decided that, in addition to anyone actually infected, they would start quarantining those likely to be infected. They deemed the disease to be blood borne and/or sexually transmitted, so they began to round up people they thought likely candidates, including drug users, the homeless, the sexually promiscuous and people with tattoos. The last bit i remember is some street kid being beaten into a box with a label of "Certified Waifboy" (someone's sig from the days of yore on acg, which in this case was officialspeak for 'convicted vagrant').
