Random impressions:

* Warped (support) - very tight, very rawk'n'roll, very not-my-thing.

* Sound (both bands) - too effing loud, it's a small room, not a fricking football stadium, ferfucksake.

* Crowd - grungy crowd early on, with more goths gathering later and lots of crusty old punks (most popular hairstyle in the 'mosh pit' seemed to be Male Pattern Baldness) - but where were all the crusty young punks?

* Killing Joke - Huuuuge sound, some songs not as tight as others, but magic when it hit the spot.

* Jaz Coleman - one part right nutter to two parts funny fucker.

* Setlist - seemed to have something off every album i know (except Brighter Than 1000 Suns, but everybody seems to pretend that doesn't exist anyway).

* Highlights for me - Requiem, Follow the Leaders, Fall of Because.

* Disappointing - The Wait not sounding exactly the same as on record (even if that was nearly a quarter century ago). Because i wanted it to.

* Surprising - Whiteout and Seeing Red sound much better live (never cared much for them before).

* Interesting - Death and Resurrection Show (never heard it before).

* Don't remember hearing - Tension (though they said they'd played it).

* Would also have liked to hear - nah, let's not get into that.

* Not used to seeing - hands raised in the air without 'devil horns'.

* Sobering moment - hearing the band had a smash on the way down from Brisbane in which four people died. No idea who.

* Most awkward moment - the bass player seeming to want a fight with someone up the front.

* Made up for by - everyone all huggy and chummy at the end.

* Encores - you couldn't make the buggers leave if you wanted to.
